Taxonomy
Venus (Omphaloclathrum) mekranica was named by Vredenburg (1928) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Early Pliocene; Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Antigona mekranica by Eames (1950); it was recombined as Fimbria (Omphaloclathrum) mekranica by Iqbal (1969); it was recombined as Venus mekranica by Iqbal (1980).
