Taxonomy
Sorex minutoides was named by Storch (1995). Its type specimen is IVPP V12113, a mandible (dext. with m1), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ertemte 2, which is in a Miocene lacustrine horizon in China.

G. Storch 1995Very small=-sized species. Mental foramen located beneath p4-m1 boundary. The postmandibular foramen is present. Mandibular condyle very small, with slender dorsal facet and short and slender interarticular area. P4 with cuspidate hypocone. Upper incisor fissident. Lower incisor short and rather robust, with sharp cusps.
