Taxonomy
Orthothrix lamellosus was named by Geinitz (1848).

It was recombined as Strophalosia lamellosus by Davidson (1858); it was recombined as Strophalosia lamellosa by Geinitz (1861), Langenhan (1899), Reed (1944); it was recombined as Craspedalosia lamellosa by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960).
