Sister taxa: Galemys kormosi, Galemys pyrenaicus, Galemys semseyi
Type specimen: MZP 304/8, a mandible (fragment mandible with i3-p2 (dex)). Its type locality is Węże, which is in a MN 15 cave breccia in Poland.
Ecology: amphibious insectivore
Distribution: found only at Węże
