Type specimens:

  • Trimerorhachis insignis: Its type locality is Indian Creek, 35 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas
  • Trimerorhachis alleni: AMNH 4577, a set of vertebrae (four dorsal vertebrae). Its type locality is Cox's Camp, 17 (Belle Plains Formation), which is in an Artinskian terrestrial claystone/limestone in the Belle Plains Formation of Texas.
  • Trimerorhachis bilobatus: Its type locality is Tit Mountain, 21 (Belle Plains Formation), which is in an Artinskian terrestrial claystone/limestone in the Belle Plains Formation of Texas.
  • Trimerorhachis medius: Its type locality is South of Fulda, 19 (Belle Plains), which is in an Artinskian terrestrial claystone/limestone in the Petrolia Formation of Texas.
