Type specimen: FMNH UR 2311, a partial skeleton (skull with jaw and four neural arches, two centra and part of the pectoral girdle). Its type locality is southwest of Grandfield, which is in a Kungurian fluvial shale/sandstone in the Hennessey Formation of Oklahoma.
