Sister taxa: Irenesauripus acutus, Irenesauripus mclearni

Type specimen: NMC 8550, a footprint. Its type locality is 1.75 miles upstream from Gething's mine, Peace River Canyon, which is in an Albian terrestrial sandstone/coal in the Gething Formation of Canada.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at 1.75 miles upstream from Gething's mine, Peace River Canyon
