Type specimens:

  • Parasaniwa wyomingensis: USNM 10797, a mandible (fragmentary left dentary with one complete and two broken teeth). Its type locality is Lance Creek (AMNH 1892 general), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
  • Parasaniwa obtusa: USNM 10798. Its type locality is Lance Creek (AMNH 1892 general), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (3: Alberta, Saskatchewan collections), Mexico (1), United States (16: Montana, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wyoming)
