Type specimen: AMNH 1620, a mandible (portion of the right dentary bearing five complete teeth and the basal portions of eight others). Its type locality is Alkali Creek (AMNH), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Wind River Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (13: California, Utah, Wyoming collections)

Total: 13 collections each including a single occurrence
