Type specimens:

  • Megaloolithus cylindricus: VPL/KH 201, an egg. Its type locality is Chui Hill, Jabalpur [Lower Limestone], which is in a Maastrichtian delta plain limestone in the Lameta Formation of India.
  • Megaloolithus rahioliensis: 147/CRP/96, an egg. Its type locality is Temple Hill, Rahioli (ls), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial limestone/sandstone in the Lameta Formation of India.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Argentina (2 collections), India (15)

Total: 17 collections each including a single occurrence
