Type specimen: USNM 26521, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Stone Canyon, which is in a Burdigalian deltaic sandstone/coal in the Vaqueros Formation of California.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Stone Canyon
