Sister taxa: Paraphiomys orangeus, Paraphiomys pigotti
Type specimen: AS9-1100. Its type locality is Al-Sarrar, Locality 8, Dam Formation, which is in a Burdigalian fluvial limestone in the Dam Formation of Saudi Arabia.
Ecology: ground dwelling grazer
Distribution:
• Miocene of Saudi Arabia (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
