Sister taxon: Leptochamops thrinax

Type specimen: YPM 1062, a mandible (a nearly complete left dentary with 23 teeth). Its type locality is Peterson's Quarry, which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (3: Alberta, Saskatchewan collections), United States (19: Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming)

Total: 22 collections each including a single occurrence
