Type specimens:

  • Ischyrhiza avonicola: UCMP 53917, a tooth (complete rostral tooth). Its type locality is Lull 2 Quarry (UCMP V-5620), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
  • Ischyrhiza monasterica: Its type locality is Kemp Clay Formation, which is in a Maastrichtian marine claystone/sandstone in the Kemp Clay Formation of Texas.

Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore

• Paleocene of United States (1: Montana collection)
