Type specimen: MLP 5-11, a partial skull. Its type locality is Cerro del Castillo, Trelew, which is in an Aquitanian/Burdigalian shallow subtidal sandstone in the Gaiman Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Cerro del Castillo, Trelew
