Type specimen: USNM 8060, a skeleton. Its type locality is Chesapeake Beach, south of, Zones 3-6, which is in a Burdigalian offshore siltstone in the Calvert Formation of Maryland.

• Miocene of New Zealand (1 collection), Peru (1), United States (8: Maryland, Virginia)
