Sister taxon: Mimeosaurus tugrikinensis

Type specimen: AMNH 6655, a maxilla (left maxillary with dentition). Its type locality is Shabarakh Usu (AMNH loc. 12049), which is in a Campanian eolian sandstone in the Djadokhta Formation of Mongolia.
