Type specimen: SMNS 11085, a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton). Its type locality is Gebel Mokattam, lower, which is in a Lutetian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Mokattam Formation of Egypt.

Distribution: found only at Gebel Mokattam, lower
