Sister taxon: Brachychampsa montana

Type specimen: NMMNH P-25050, a partial skull (partial skull and associated partial right mandible, partial ramus of the left mandible, and a nearly complete osteoderm). Its type locality is NMMNH locality L-3034, which is in a Campanian/Campanian terrestrial mudstone in the Menefee Formation of New Mexico.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at NMMNH locality L-3034
