Type specimens:

  • Prosaurolophus maximus: AMNH 5386, a skull. Its type locality is north fork, Sand Creek (250 ft level) [AMNH], which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada.
  • Prosaurolophus blackfeetensis: MOR 454. Its type locality is West-Side Quarry, MOR TM-041, which is in a Campanian floodplain mudstone in the Two Medicine Formation of Montana.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (10: Alberta collections), United States (3: Montana)
