Type specimen: USNM 7934, a partial skull. Its type locality is Witter Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota.

• Paleocene of Canada (2: Alberta, Saskatchewan), United States (6: North Dakota, Wyoming)
