Type specimen: AMNH 12092, a mandible. Its type locality is Henry's Fork Hill (Bridger C), which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

Distribution: there are no occurrences of Phenacops incerta in the database
