Type specimen: AMNH 9805, a partial skeleton (The upper and lower cheek teeth of one side, and fragments of the skeleton, including parts of the feet. ). Its type locality is Martin Canyon Quarry A, which is in a Hemingfordian channel horizon in the Pawnee Creek Formation of Colorado.
