Type specimen: MCZ 2889, a maxilla. Its type locality is Bear Creek Mountain (West 2), which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser

Distribution:

• Arikareean of United States (8: Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming collections)

• Oligocene of United States (19: Nebraska, South Dakota)

Total: 27 collections each including a single occurrence
