Sister taxa: none

Type specimen: USNM 16646, a partial skull (basal portion of skull with complete dentition, except for three incisors and portions of both rami of the manidble with P/3 to M/3). Its type locality is Covington Farm, which is in a Bartonian marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Cook Mountain Formation of Mississippi.
