Type specimen: CIT 2037, a skull (right half of the muzzle of a skull from the anterior part of the orbit to the anterior end of the maxillary with the canine and P1-M3 ). Its type locality is San Diego Mission (CIT 249), which is in an Uintan terrestrial conglomerate in the Friars Formation of California.
