Sister taxa: Oligoryctes altitalonidus, Oligoryctes cameronensis

Type specimen: SDSM 150890, a partial skull (dentary with m1-m3). Its type locality is Arner Ranch ant mounds, which is in a Chadronian/Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Chadron Formation of Nebraska.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Arner Ranch ant mounds
