Sister taxa: Huerfanodon heilprinianus, Huerfanodon polecatensis
Type specimen: USNM 15412, a partial skull (partial skull with right dentary fragments). Its type locality is Little Pocket, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico.
Ecology: scansorial omnivore-herbivore
Distribution: found only at Little Pocket
