Sister taxon: Hitonkala macdonaldtau

Type specimen: SDSM 56120, a skull (skull, with unworn dP4/4, P4/4-M3/3. Upper and lower deciduous fourth premolars removed (by writer) on right side to expose P4/4). Its type locality is Sharps (SDSM V-5354), which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Sharps Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Arikareean of United States (2: South Dakota collections)

• Oligocene of United States (2: South Dakota)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
