Type specimens:

  • Gypsonictops hypoconus: YPM 13662, a tooth (upper molar). Its type locality is Peterson's Quarry, which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
  • Euangelistes petersoni: Carnegie Museum 11657, a mandible (left mandible with P3 and M1-4 (M4 now lost)).

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore-frugivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (2: Alberta collections), United States (32: Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming)
