Belongs to Ectoconus according to C. L. Gazin 1939
Sister taxa: Ectoconus cavigellii, Ectoconus ditrigonus
Type specimen: USNM 16189, a maxilla (right maxillary portion with M1, M2 and part of P4). Its type locality is Wagonroad Lower Horizon, which is in a Puercan terrestrial horizon in the North Horn Formation of Utah.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Paleocene of United States (5: Utah collections)
Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
