Sister taxon: Cynodesmus thooides

Type specimen: UNSM 25796, a skull (nearly complete skull and mandible). Its type locality is Redington Gap West (Basal Siltstone), which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of Nebraska.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore-omnivore

Distribution: found only at Redington Gap West (Basal Siltstone)
