Type specimens:

  • Cimolestes incisus: YPM 11775, a tooth (Left M1). Its type locality is Mammal Quarry No. 1 (UCMP V-5003), which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
  • Nyssodon punctidens: YPM 13654, a tooth (upper molar).

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of Canada (1: Saskatchewan collection), Morocco (1), United States (2: Montana)

• Cretaceous of Canada (2: Saskatchewan), United States (13: Montana, Wyoming)
