Sister taxa: Carpodaptes cygneus, Carpodaptes hazelae, Carpodaptes hobackensis, Carpodaptes jepseni, Carpodaptes rosei, Carpodaptes stonleyi

Type specimen: A.M.N.H. No. 17367, a mandible (lower jaw with P2-M3, alveolus of P1 and part of canine alveolus). Its type locality is Mason Pocket, which is in a Tiffanian fissure fill shale in Colorado.

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution: found only at Mason Pocket
