Type specimen: IGCU 2296, a skull (major portion of a skull, incomplete right jaw, and left jaw fragment). Its type locality is Las Tunas, which is in a Blancan terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in Mexico.
Ecology: semifossorial granivore-frugivore
Distribution: found only at Las Tunas
