Sister taxon: Progura gallinacea

Type specimen: WAM 15.9.5, a partial skeleton (associated remains of one adult individual, comprising the following elements: premaxilla, approximately 15 mm of the tip; right articular of mandible lacking t). Its type locality is Leaena's Breath Cave, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia.
