Type specimen: MSNUP I-17603, a partial skeleton (a partial cranium, one detached tooth, one vertebra, and one fragment of rib). Its type locality is Sant’Andrea Bagni, which is in a Zanclean marine mudstone in the Argille Azzurre Formation of Italy.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Sant’Andrea Bagni
