Sister taxa: Viracarpon chitaleyi, Viracarpon elongatum, Viracarpon hexaspermum
Type specimen: NRS/ Deposited at Botany Department, J. M. Patel College, Bhandara, a seed/fruit (frucification). Its type locality is Mahurzari, which is in a Paleogene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
Ecology: "photoautotroph"
