Sister taxon: Isogomphodon acuarias
Type specimen: SC2013.38.110, a tooth (upper anterior tooth). Its type locality is South Aiken Site, which is in a Priabonian marine horizon in the Dry Branch Formation of South Carolina.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at South Aiken Site
