Sister taxa: Callorhinchus alfordi, Callorhinchus stahli
Type specimen: MMNS 6210, a partial skull (right palatine). Its type locality is MS.53.035, which is in a Danian marine horizon in the Clayton Formation of Mississippi.
Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore
Distribution: found only at MS.53.035
