Type specimen: NMNZ S.29496.3, a skull. Its type locality is Te Ana a Moe, Chatham Island, which is in a Holocene cave horizon in New Zealand.
Ecology: volant herbivore
Distribution: found only at Te Ana a Moe, Chatham Island
