Sister taxa: Lophiobunodon minervoisensis, Lophiobunodon rhodanicum

Type specimen: MNHN.RZ 137, a maxilla (maxilla with dp4-m2). Its type locality is Rouzilhac, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian coarse channel fill sandstone/siltstone in the Molasse de Carcassonne Formation of France.

Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser

Distribution: found only at Rouzilhac
