Belongs to Cathlorhynchus according to T. Qiao and M. Zhu 2015
Sister taxon: Cathlorhynchus trismodipterus
Type specimen: IVPP V18140, a partial skull (A mandible specimen with a pair of toothplates). Its type locality is Cathlorhynchus zengi-type locality, which is in an Emsian marine horizon in the Yukiang Formation of China.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Cathlorhynchus zengi-type locality
