Type specimen: RSM P2588.1, a skeleton (moderately complete and articulated skull associated with a quite complete disarticulated postcranium). Its type locality is Herbert Ferry, which is in a Campanian marine claystone in the Bearpaw Shale Formation of Canada.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Herbert Ferry
