Sister taxon: Peritresius ornatus

Type specimen: ALMNH 6191, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is ALn-8, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian marine sandstone/claystone in the Ripley Formation of Alabama.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution: found only at ALn-8
