Type specimen: IVIC-P-2908, a partial skull (almost complete skull, lacking the pre-orbital region, the right portion of the skull roof, and the right lateral wall of the fossa temporalis). Its type locality is El Miedo Cave, which is in a Miocene shallow subtidal limestone in the Capadare Formation of Venezuela.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at El Miedo Cave
