Sister taxon: Spirinchus starksi
Type specimen: TRPM 664-062, a skeleton. Its type locality is Miyanoshita, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Iwami Formation of Japan.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Miyanoshita
