Sister taxon: Leptonysson basiliscus
Type specimen: YPM-PU 20601, a mandible (Left dentary with p4-m3). Its type locality is Cedar Point Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Fort Union Formation of Wyoming.
Ecology: amphibious piscivore-durophage
Distribution:
• Paleocene of United States (2: Wyoming collections)
