Type specimen: SU 656, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Lompoc Quarry, which is in a Tortonian basinal (siliciclastic) diatomite in the Monterey Formation of California.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Lompoc Quarry
