Belongs to Brachygnathosuchus according to R. A. Stirton 1953
Sister taxa: none
Type specimen: USNM 10889, a partial skeleton (6 vertebrae, ribs, and parts of maxilla and dentaries). Its type locality is Between Neiva and the River Bache, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Colombia.
Ecology: carnivore
